Today, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology granted the company “Access Technology” an official license to provide satellite internet services via satellite communication technology (VSAT) in the temporary capital, Aden. This is part of its efforts to regulate the telecommunications sector and enhance the digital infrastructure in the country.
The license was handed over during an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen), in the presence of representatives from both parties. The CEO of “Access Technology,” Engineer Basel Farouk, received the license document from the CEO of “TeleYemen,” Engineer Abdulsalam Al-Salfi.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology confirmed that this step is part of its plan to activate legal licenses and ensure the provision of communication services according to approved national and international standards, contributing to the development of digital infrastructure and improving the quality of services provided to citizens and institutions.
The ministry called on all companies operating in the telecommunications field without official licenses to expedite regularizing their legal status by applying to the International Telecommunications Company “TeleYemen,” stressing the necessity for government and private entities not to deal with any unlicensed company.
It also affirmed its right to take legal action against violators to preserve data security and the integrity of the national communication network.
