As part of his efforts to support the telecommunications sector and enhance the digital infrastructure in Yemen, His Excellency Dr. Waed Batheeb, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, paid an official visit to the headquarters of the Yemen International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen), following the launch of the “Starlink” satellite internet service in the country.
His Excellency was received by the company’s leadership, headed by Mr. Abdulsalam Al-Salfi, CEO, along with other company executives. An extensive meeting was held, attended by several employees, during which the minister discussed a range of future projects and development plans aimed at improving the quality of telecommunications services and expanding digital coverage to include various Yemeni regions.
During the meeting, the minister praised the efforts of TeleYemen’s staff in keeping pace with global technological developments, appreciating the vital role the company plays in supporting digital transformation and providing international telecommunications services with high quality and efficiency.
The discussion also touched on several upcoming initiatives that the ministry seeks to implement in cooperation with TeleYemen, including digital infrastructure projects and the expansion of satellite internet services, aligning with local market needs and enhancing Yemen’s position in the regional telecommunications sector.
This visit is part of a series of moves led by His Excellency Minister Batheeb to support national telecommunications companies and activate strategic partnerships that serve economic and social development in Yemen.
