Agreement Objectives
This partnership aims to grant TeleYemen the exclusive partnership to provide satellite internet services in liberated areas, using multiple satellites including:
Arabsat, Intelsat, Eutelsat, and Turksat, to provide services to:
• Government institutions
• Companies and banks
• International organizations
• The private sector
Full regulation, licensing, and control
The agreement seeks to:
• Regulate the use of satellite internet to ensure service licensing from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
• Protect national security by tracking the number of users, their locations, and the volume of capacities used.
• Establish a comprehensive national database and use the OBS system for full technical control and monitoring of terminal stations.
• Regulate the market for buying and selling devices related to the service.
• Qualify and train engineering and technical staff to provide high-quality services.
• Adopt the latest global technologies in the field of satellite internet.
• Provide technical consultations and innovative digital solutions that support improving the quality and efficiency of services.Statements from the Two Companies
In a statement following the signing, Mr. Abdul Salam Al-Salfi confirmed that this agreement comes within TeleYemen’s vision to expand its regional and international partnerships and its keenness to introduce new technologies that support continuous development in telecommunications services.
Al-Salfi added:
