During its meeting, the council approved a number of important decisions, most notably: the adoption of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, the approval of mechanisms and procedures for the accession of international organizations as observers, the adoption of joint Arab statements in the field of cybersecurity, in addition to approving the council’s accession to the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, and joining the membership of prominent specialized international entities and organizations.
The Republic of Yemen’s speech at the meeting was delivered by Mr. Abdulsalam Al-Salfi, on behalf of His Excellency Minister Dr. Waed Bazib, in which he emphasized the importance of enhancing joint Arab cooperation in the field of cybersecurity to confront the increasing challenges amid rapid digital development.
Al-Salfi pointed out the existence of gaps in infrastructure and legislation, which necessitates the development of qualified human capacities and the establishment of effective early warning mechanisms and joint coordination among Arab countries.
The speech reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to supporting every Arab effort aimed at creating a safe and reliable cyber space that enhances security and digital trust and keeps pace with the aspirations for development and prosperity in the region, stressing that unifying Arab positions is the best way to confront threats and turn challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.
